• At home (unexpected passing): Call emergency services (000) immediately. The police and paramedics will attend and advise on the process. You can then contact us to arrange care and support.
• At a hospital, nursing home or palliative care facility: The staff will notify you and take care of the formalities. You can then call Cosmopolitan Funerals directly, and we will make arrangements.

We provide an online arrangement form that allows you to complete the necessary details and documents at your convenience. Our caring funeral directors will then guide you through the rest of the process, ensuring everything is arranged smoothly and respectfully.

In most cases, the next of kin — such as a spouse, child, parent, legal partner, or sibling — is responsible for arranging the funeral. If there are no surviving family members or relatives, anyone who had a close association with the deceased is legally able to make the arrangements. When planning a funeral, you’ll first need to decide on the type of service: burial, cremation, or repatriation overseas. You’ll also choose between a Single Service or a Dual Service.

• Single Service: This is typically held entirely at one location, such as a graveside, crematorium, or our funeral home chapel. It involves less travel and is often simpler to organise. Our chapel also offers flexibility in timing and space for wakes or refreshments.
• Dual Service: This is the most commonly requested option. It usually begins with a service in a church or chapel, followed by a funeral procession to the cemetery or crematorium. Dual Services provide more opportunities for tradition, family participation, and attendance by friends.
